The construction of Atakum State Hospital, planned to have 350 beds in Samsun, has started.

The hospital in Balaç District, which is estimated to cost 2.4 billion lira and have a closed area of 6 thousand square meters, is planned to be completed within 900 days.

The hospital, whose bed capacity can be increased to 500 when necessary, will include 82 polyclinics, 12 operating rooms, 26 emergency observation and 64 intensive care beds, 15 dialysis units with devices and 6 delivery rooms.

Samsun Provincial Health Director Mustafa Uras, in his statement to journalists, said that they started ground improvement activities after receiving the site delivery of the hospital.

Stating that Atakum State Hospital has been awaited by citizens for many years, Uras said, "The contractor company has created the construction site, in some places there is excavation work due to the elevation. Work is being carried out on bored piles. Later, this place will be equipped with earthquake isolators and the foundation laying process will begin. We aim to complete it in less than three years." he said.
